Project Overview
Following storm exposure and age-related wear, the homeowner noticed declining roof performance, including deteriorated shingles, compromised flashing, and ventilation concerns. An inspection confirmed the need for a full roof replacement, along with upgraded leak protection, flashing improvements, and ventilation enhancements. The existing roofing system was no longer providing dependable defense against heavy rainfall and seasonal storms, prompting the need for a comprehensive and long-lasting solution.
Results
The new roofing system delivered immediate improvements in protection, appearance, and overall performance. GAF Timberline HDZ shingles provided enhanced wind resistance, uniform coverage, and long-term durability. StormGuard ice and water shield was installed at valleys, penetrations, pitch changes, and chimney areas to reinforce leak protection. Flashing was upgraded at walls, brick transitions, and the chimney, including new step, headwall, and counter flashing. Ventilation was improved by removing existing ridge vents and installing new Cobra III ridge vent sections, with additional exhaust upgrades including a gooseneck vent and HVAC vent modifications.
