Targeted Roof Repair & Leak Protection
This roof repair project in Brookhaven, GA restored critical protection to the home by addressing localized damage, compromised decking, and plumbing vent penetrations. The work improved leak resistance and ensured vulnerable areas were properly sealed to prevent future water intrusion.
Project Overview
Following storm exposure and ongoing moisture intrusion, the homeowner noticed signs of roof and decking damage around plumbing penetrations. An inspection confirmed deteriorated decking, aging pipe boots, and inadequate leak protection in targeted areas of the roof. While the remainder of the roofing system remained serviceable, these localized issues required prompt repair to restore watertight integrity and prevent further interior damage.
Results
The repair work delivered immediate improvements in protection and performance at critical roof penetrations. Damaged decking was removed and replaced with new CDX plywood to provide a solid substrate. StormGuard ice and water shield was installed to reinforce leak-prone areas, and new plumbing boots were installed to properly seal vent penetrations.
Any disturbed roofing was restored using matching charcoal three-tab shingles to blend with the existing roof. Sealant and protective coatings were applied as needed to ensure a watertight finish. With repairs completed, the homeowner now has reinforced protection in previously vulnerable areas, reducing the risk of future leaks.
