This roof repair in Marietta, GA restored protection to the home by addressing compromised flashing, damaged shingles, and vulnerable roof penetrations. The project focused on reinforcing critical transition areas to improve weather resistance and prevent ongoing water intrusion while preserving the integrity of the existing roof system.
Project Overview
The homeowner reported concerns related to water intrusion around the siding chimney and roof penetrations. An inspection confirmed deteriorated step flashing, damaged shingles, and compromised sealing around vent pipes, all of which required corrective repairs to meet current building code and prevent further damage.
The scope of work included replacing step flashing and shingles along the siding chimney, cutting siding as required by code, installing a new chimney pan, and removing and replacing shingles and jack flashing around vent pipes. Additional repairs included reinforcing the area with ice and water shield, replacing damaged decking where needed, and properly sealing and fastening all repaired components.

New GAF Timberline HDZ shingles in Charcoal blended seamlessly with the existing roof, maintaining curb appeal while delivering durable coverage.
