Flat Roof Parapet Flashing Repair – Acworth, GA
This roof repair in Acworth, GA restored critical waterproofing and protection to a parapet wall roofing system by addressing failed flashing and worn modified bitumen materials. The project focused on reinforcing vulnerable transition points to improve weather resistance and prevent water intrusion while extending the life of the existing roof system.
Project Overview
The property owner reported concerns related to water intrusion along the parapet wall, where aging flashing and deteriorated roofing materials were no longer providing adequate protection. An inspection confirmed failures at the wall-to-roof transition, requiring targeted repairs rather than a full roof replacement.
The scope of work included reusing the existing parapet wall copper coping, installing new copper counter flashing, and replacing worn modified bitumen layers. These repairs were designed to restore proper waterproofing at one of the most critical areas of the roofing system.
Results
The completed repairs restored proper sealing and protection along the parapet wall and roof transition. New base and cap sheets were installed to reinforce the roofing surface, while copper counter flashing and rivets ensured long-term durability at the wall interface. Window sealant was applied to secure all termination points, significantly improving water resistance and reducing the risk of future leaks. The roof now has renewed protection and extended service life without the need for a full replacement.
