Dormer Leak Roof Repair
This roof repair in Kennesaw, GA restored proper protection to the home using GAF Timberline HDZ shingles in Weathered Wood. The project addressed active leaks and compromised flashing around the dormer area, preventing further water intrusion and restoring the roof’s ability to shed water effectively under local weather conditions.
Project Overview
The homeowner reported a leak above the front door, prompting a detailed roof inspection. The evaluation identified nail pops, deteriorated flashing, and damaged shingles surrounding the dormer area. In addition, localized decking damage was discovered beneath the affected section. Given Kennesaw’s frequent rain events, targeted repairs were required to correct the compromised areas and restore reliable protection without a full roof replacement.
Results
The completed repairs eliminated the active leak and reinforced vulnerable transition points on the roof. New GAF Timberline HDZ shingles were integrated seamlessly with the existing roofing system, while updated flashing and sealants ensured long-term water resistance. Replacement OSB decking restored structural integrity in the affected area, and all work was completed to proper installation standards for lasting performance.
