Smyrna Roof Leak Repair
This roof repair in Smyrna, GA restored proper protection to the home by addressing a localized leak on the rear roof section. The project focused on correcting compromised decking, reinforcing water-vulnerable areas, and restoring the roof’s ability to perform reliably under local weather conditions.
Project Overview
The homeowner contacted Dr Roof after experiencing an active roof leak on the back section of the home. An inspection confirmed localized failure in the roofing system, including deteriorated plywood and compromised flashing that allowed water intrusion.
Because the remainder of the roof was still serviceable, a targeted repair was recommended rather than a full replacement. The scope of work included removal of the affected roofing area, replacement of damaged decking, and installation of new leak-protection and flashing components to eliminate the source of the leak.
Results
The completed roof repair successfully resolved the leak and restored the roof’s watertight integrity. Rotten plywood was removed and replaced, followed by installation of new StormGuard leak barrier, updated step flashing, and new architectural shingles to properly integrate with the existing roof.
All transitions and repair areas were sealed using 2100 sealant to reinforce vulnerable points and prevent future water intrusion. With the repair completed to professional standards and backed by a one-year workmanship warranty, the roof is once again providing dependable protection.
