Decatur Roof Leak Repair
This roof repair in Decatur restored proper protection to a 10-year-old ranch-style home by addressing an active leak affecting the bathroom. The project focused on correcting localized roofing failures, reinforcing vulnerable areas, and preventing further interior water intrusion.
Project Overview
The homeowner contacted Dr Roof after noticing water leaking into the bathroom. An inspection of the approximately 10-year-old roof revealed a localized issue rather than widespread roof failure, making a targeted repair the most appropriate solution.
The evaluation identified compromised shingles and a failing plumbing boot as the likely sources of the leak. Because the remainder of the roof was still serviceable, a full replacement was not necessary, and repairs were recommended to restore watertight integrity.
Results
The repair work successfully eliminated the active leak and reinforced the affected roofing area. Damaged shingles were removed and replaced with GAF Timberline shingles in Weathered Wood, ensuring proper integration with the existing roof.
New StormGuard leak barrier was installed to add extra protection in the repaired area, and the plumbing boot was replaced to properly seal the roof penetration. With the repair completed, the roof is once again protecting the home from moisture intrusion, and the bathroom interior is safeguarded against further water damage.
