Question: How do you know what the cause of a roof leak is?
Answer: A thorough inspection of all possible sources of water entry is required. The roofing specialist will begin with recommending repairs for the most obvious and common defects on the roof which can lead to water intrusion. 90% of the time these roof repairs will resolve the roof leak. Sometimes a second visit is required if the roof leak continues, and additional, less obvious or more complex issues may be causing the roof leak; such as damaged siding, brick or stucco which may be absorbing moisture.
Question: How long should a roof repair last before I should expect the leak to begin again?
Answer: A roof repair can stop a roof leak for anywhere from several months to several years, depending on the type of the repair selected, and the general condition and age of the overall roof. If the roof is over 15 years old and is showing signs of leaks in multiple locations, it may make sense to consider a new roof instead of spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on short term repairs.
Question: Can I get financing for a roof repair project?
Answer: In most cases, yes. Our Financing partner, WellsFargo, has a variety of financing options available both small roof repair jobs and larger projects.
Question: Can a roof that has a low slope (appears almost flat), have shingles installed on it.
Answer: Any roof that is below a "2/12" pitch, which means it has very little slope for water to run off of it, should preferably have a low slope material applied to the roof instead of shingles. Sometimes special underlayment materials can be applied to the roof, but we recommend shingles only be used when the roof has sufficient pitch to allow for adequate water run-off.
Question: What makes Dr. Roof Atlanta better than other roofers in Atlanta when it comes to making roof repairs?
Answer: For more than 32 years, Dr Roof Atlanta has been the leader in repairing and installing roofs. Roofing is not as simple as people tend to think. Because Roofers often do sloppy work, they are usually out of business within 5 years, as their warranty calls exceed their new business. To ensure the longevity of the company, Dr. Roof chooses to prioritize Quality and Service. Dr. Roof invests heavily in Quality Control and Training of it's Roof Repair technicians. Diagnosing roof leaks is a learned skill which Dr. Roof experts are trained and qualified to do.
Question: Can hail damage on a roof be repaired? Can wind damage on a roof be repaired?
Answer: No, generally when a large portion of the roof is damaged by a hail or wind storm, it requires replacement. Homeowners Insurance policies usually help cover the expense of replacing a roof damaged by a hail or wind storm. The homeowner would need to file a claim, and the insurance company would send an adjuster to inspect the roof. Dr. Roof offers to assist with claims and to help identify damage to the insurance company upon request.
